Been working on harpies, they've been on my mind since I decided to add them into one of my stories.

They are loosely based on harpy eagles, though with several liberties in their avian biology. They have zydactal hands and feet and though they are strong fliers, they are somewhat awkward on the ground. They wear little, but in combat or when raiding (as they often do, as human settlements put great pressure on their ordinary hunting habits and has lead to a lot of very bad conflict) they do wear various forms of mixed light armor and occasional adornments. It's usually cobbled together bits of plate, leather and mail. They favor weapons like bolas and nets to compliment their natural advantage of flight, and their very sharp claws and beaks. They make exceptional archers, though they cannot use bows in flight when grounded their aim is extraordinary due to their eyesight, and their strength means they are able to use bows and bolts much heavier than most other humanoids.
